About Me
Hi, I’m Marcia Bertschi! (she/her) I’m excited to meet you and work with you! Values that resonate for me:
I live in the beautiful rural countryside of northern British Columbia. Country life teaches you to work hard and care for those around you, and my connection to the land grounds me.
I’m fortunate to have a large, close extended family.
I’m married to a wonderful man who happens to be significantly older than me.
I love developing programs and supporting sustainable change.
To me, integrity is priceless. It’s not perfection; it’s a willingness to be honest, principled, and ethical, and to strive to be the best you can be.
Education is one of my core values. It’s a great path to becoming your best self, but sometimes there can be challenges putting it into practice.
Communications skills are also key. We often don’t get our own needs met or can’t help others because we lack the necessary communications skills – I can help with this.
My backstory:
I spent five years caring for my elderly father, who suffered from dementia. This profoundly changed the way I look at myself and the world. Though I nearly lost myself, I emerged more creative and with the understanding that true leadership empowers others. This also taught me that it’s unhealthy to ignore our own needs and wants.
As a professional (CPA, CMA) who worked in health care for over 20 years, I experienced a lot of change, opportunity, and burnout, combined with balancing my role as a caregiver. This experience has informed and enriched the coaching I provide.
My life has been full of contrasts:
While I identify as an athlete with experience in soccer, basketball, volleyball, hiking, CrossFit, and boxing, I've consistently faced challenges in sustaining my desired level of physical fitness
Although I lean towards introversion, I can be extroverted.
Likewise, I communicate in a direct and straightforward way, but I’m also sensitive and empathetic.
Experience
During my more than 10 years of coaching, I’ve supported over 150 individuals and teams to define and implement their goals.
I’ve organized and facilitated over 50 workshops on various topics and have been instrumental in developing many training programs.
I have the experience and skills to support you in exploring your situation from different angles.
